Wide-neck canister 6 liters

For professional tradespeople and businesses, the organization of tools and equipment in the vehicle is a crucial factor for efficient workflows. Liquids such as cleaning agents, lubricants, water, or chemical solutions must be transported safely, cleanly, and within easy reach. The 6-liter wide-mouth canister from Sortimo offers a robust and functional solution tailored specifically to the demands of daily operations. As part of the extensive Sortimo canister range, it meets the high standards for hygiene, stability, and handling required in workshops, on construction sites, or in fleet operations. The clear separation of solids and liquids, as well as the secure storage of hazardous or dirty media, require high-quality accessories that not only hold but also prove their worth in daily use. This canister combines these properties in a compact design that can be used both as a vehicle canister and as a versatile workshop canister.

The construction of the container is based on polyethylene (PE), a material known for its durability, chemical resistance, and ease of cleaning. The material ensures that the 6-liter PE canister is resistant to external influences while remaining light enough to facilitate transport. The shaping with the large opening, also known as a wide mouth, is no coincidence but serves practical functionality. With an opening diameter of 88 millimeters, this design allows for uncomplicated filling, even when powders or coarse particles are involved, which justifies the term bulk material canister in certain contexts, although it is primarily designed for liquids. The large mouth also facilitates thorough internal cleaning, an important aspect for hygiene, especially if the canister is used for drinking water or food. The screw cap ensures a secure closure that prevents leaking and protects the contents from external contamination.

In addition to the main opening, the container has a smaller opening with a diameter of 18 millimeters. This can be equipped with a pouring spout to enable controlled flow without having to open the large lid. This is particularly advantageous when dosing smaller quantities or when working in confined spaces. Additionally, there is another opening for screwing in drain taps and corner valves, which is standardly closed with a screw plug. This expansion option offers flexibility for users who require a permanent connection to a drainage system. The matching outlet tap is available separately, allowing for individual adaptation to the user's specific needs without burdening the basic product with permanently installed parts that may not be needed.

When looking at the technical specifications, the compactness of the design stands out. The external dimensions are 132 x 277 x 296 mm (length x width x height). These dimensions are chosen so that the container can be stored space-savingly in shelf systems or storage compartments, while still offering sufficient volume for transporting larger quantities. The empty weight of the wide-mouth canister is 0.68 kg. This low mass helps ensure that the total weight of the filled canister is not unnecessarily increased, which is advantageous when carrying it frequently or transferring contents. The maximum payload is 6 kg, which corresponds to the filling volume of 6 liters, as the density of most liquids used falls within this range. However, it should be noted that with heavier liquids, the weight limit of 6 kg represents the boundary, not the volume.

The area of application for this 6-liter wide-mouth canister is broad. In the workshop, it serves ideally as a storage container for coolant lubricants, cleaning solutions, or water for the pneumatic gun. Due to its good chemical resistance to fats, resins, alkalis, oils, and acids, it is suitable for handling numerous industrial chemicals without causing material damage or leaching. It also proves to be a reliable companion outdoors. By adding a UV stabilizer, the PE canister is weatherproof and resistant to the effects of the sun, allowing storage outdoors or on construction sites without direct sunlight damage over long periods. The temperature resistance from -20 °C to +70 °C allows use in various climatic conditions, from cold winter months to warm summer days on the construction site.

Another important aspect is hygiene. Since the container is BPA-free, it can be used without hesitation for transporting drinking water and food. This makes it a valuable resource for fleets that cover long distances and require a secure supply of clean water. The smooth PE interior surface prevents residue from adhering and significantly facilitates cleaning. For many users, the question arises as to whether the 6-liter wide-mouth canister is dishwasher safe. Due to the PE material and simple shape, cleaning in the dishwasher is generally possible, provided the manufacturer's specifications for maximum temperature resistance of 70 °C are observed to avoid deformation. In practice, manual cleaning is often preferred to ensure longevity and to completely remove residues from aggressive chemicals.

The Sortimo 6-liter wide-mouth canister weighs only 0.68 kg, making it handy and easy to transport. The combination of low empty weight and high load capacity of up to 6 kg makes it an efficient tool for daily use. The possibility of using it as a pulley canister when hung on lifting devices, or as a stable standing container, underscores the versatility of the product. The dust-tight closure option via the screw lid protects the contents from contamination, which is particularly advantageous in dusty environments such as carpentry shops or on construction sites. Closing a 6-liter wide-mouth canister dust-tight is a simple but effective means of securing the quality of stored liquids or powders.

Integration into the Sortimo system is achieved through standardized shapes and sizes that enable optimized space utilization in vehicles. Although no specific compatibilities with other articles are claimed, the shape of the canister typically fits into Sortimo's shelf systems to ensure a secure position during transit. The vertical orientation in shelves optimally utilizes the height of 296 mm. However, for users looking for a 6-liter wide-mouth canister for tool cases, the size is rather suitable for fixed integration into vehicle shelf systems, as it exceeds the typical dimensions of small cases. It is therefore advisable to carefully check the installation situation in the vehicle. A wide-mouth canister for fleet equipment must not only carry the liquid but also withstand vibrations and braking maneuvers. The robust construction from PE and the low center of gravity due to the shaping contribute to the canister remaining stable.

Advantages of the Sortimo 6-liter wide-mouth canister at a glance:

For tradespeople looking to buy a Sortimo 6-liter wide-mouth canister, this product offers a solid investment in vehicle organization. The clear structuring of tools and equipment saves time and prevents searching. The fact that the Sortimo accessory wide-mouth canister is available separately and does not necessarily have to be bound in sets allows for flexible adaptation to individual needs. You can buy only the containers that are actually needed and then integrate them into the existing shelves. This reduces costs and space requirements in the vehicle to the necessary minimum.

In summary, the 6-liter wide-mouth canister from Sortimo is a thoughtful product that strikes a balance between functionality, material quality, and handling.
